A very entertaining book about a boy who learns to reevaluate his priorities and takes you through the process of him going from video game addict to someone who realizes that sometimes you need to put the game controller down and participate in the things going on around you.
This book is about an aspect of WWII that may not be familiar to the general population. The subject matter has to do with a group of students called The White Rose who banned together to fight Hitler's beliefs and edicts. Learning about the existence of The White Rose group helps give a more well rounded picture of WWII and the position that many Germans were put in. This was a great book written from the perspective of a girl whose father was a survivor of 911 and as a result he sheltered her from the subject. She moves to another school where 911 is part of the curriculum. The reader follows her through the process of trying to figure out why 911 is a "hot topic" and how it has had a direct affect on her life. |
