I liked how this book presented a couple complicated issues (dealing with the death of a parent and overcoming a serious mistake) from the perspective of a young boy. I also like how it didn't try to wrap everything up into a tidy little package but it did show the ability to accept things we don't like and actually change for the better once we do.
